DST63504 [Introduction of Pattern Drafting and Garment Making] - Week 10
Hi, it's Jelly again. I missed class this week :(. Last week, I went to the fabric store with my friends but I fell ill right after. Since I wasn't able to attend class, I tried to do the final project pattern drafting at home.
(Initial shirt pattern)
I
was definitely clueless on what to do so I just drew the pattern by
imagination, on an A3 drawing paper. I sent it to Ms. Melina and after a while, she gave me a thumbs up,
and asked whether I wanted to try out the pattern. So I did, in a small
scale. I tested the basic shirt pattern on a small-sized calico.

It
felt good to get my hands on the physical garment-making process as it
was fun to do. In the end, I did not use the initial pattern that I made
up in my head. Because I don't have the brains to count it's
measurements at the time, or that if its actually possible. Instead, I
tried to make one with the darts that was already introduced to me weeks
ago, because it felt more proper. I'm starting to worry about the sleeves, though. I tried making it
but I had to divide it into 3 parts for the puff to look puffy. It
looks cute but I don't want it to look separated like that as it is not
my design. I definitely have to consult about it with Ms Melina later on.
