DST63504 [Introduction of Pattern Drafting and Garment Making] - Week 5

Image
Hello again, Jelly here. Week 5 was a bit of a fuzz because of another task I had to do. Let's just say that I haven't manage time well yet especially after moving units. God, I felt so tired and my whole body was sore. Sleep is also barely managed but I'm getting the hang of it. Oh, but I finally received the bendy ruler, so I don't have to bring the steel L-ruler because 1. I'm afraid of hitting someone with it (I think I might've at some point), 2. It's really heavy. So I'm really happy about that :D. That was one of the good things I've received this week, haha, so thank you very much for ordering that for us Ms. Melina! Okay so last week I mentioned that we're going to sew a life-size-12 skirt. Well... I think I'm inching towards it. When class started, Ms Melina told us to bring out our mahjong papers... which I had to go back earlier to get it from my apartment because of course I had to miss it in the group chat haha. Not to self, alw...

DST63504 [Introduction of Pattern Drafting and Garment Making] - Week 4

Hello, it's Jelly :D Going through 4th week was a breeze for me. Maybe because of the relief I had from week 3 after I did the blocks on mahjong paper. I finished the dart block drawing and then made several dart manipulations using the mahjong paper. (Unfinished Dart Block) (Tools used for Dart Block) I enjoy doing the darts a lot (it is kind of like origami, and I love origamis). I only have to make teeny tiny so I really had a good time making those. Just take a look at these :3 (Sorry, it's going to be a long scroll :x) (The Bases (Front for Shoulder; Back for Bust)) (All the darts I folded, shoulder and bust :3) (Shoulder Darts) (Some of the bust darts) (The waist dart base (Back)) (Some labeled waist darts) (Another labeled darts) (Some of the labeled shoulder darts) I don't know why but I felt so proud when I finished that. It lightened up my mood a lot and I might be very smiley at school the next day, haha. Nonetheless, I lost sleep again despite the excitement it ...

DST63504 [Introduction of Pattern Drafting and Garment Making] - Week 3

Hi ho, it's me again :3. 3rd week flew by in a quick speed for me. I felt like I slept a lot more than I usually do... or maybe it's the other way around. I made a speedy completion on all the tasks, albeit a bit late than my peers, but I'm getting the hang of it. We really had a lot of things to get done by next week so, yeah, it was a bit stressful for me. Safe to say that my adrenaline pump has officially gone but I'm still enjoying class very much :D. As I mentioned on the last blog, we we're assigned to sew 7 types of stitches by hand. It was very much a relaxing task to do since I did it whilst listening to podcasts. I love mending things... truly do love the idea of it since it would mean that I'm being helpful, but often times I just didn't know how to. At least I get to do it now. Though, it turns out I just did the bare minimum, haha, but it's okay... since Ms Melina said so herself. I was so focused while doing it that I eventually forgot to t...

DST63504 [Introduction of Pattern Drafting and Garment Making] - Week 2

Hello, it's Jelly again! I made it to 2nd week and I was quite happy with it. I still have my adrenaline pumping because all of these activities that is related to fashion is making me feel giddy. It felt like I was on my way on reaching my goal to become a successful fashion designer :D. Last week, we drew a a tailored skirt block on Mahjong Paper. The process itself was fun and it felt enjoyable doing such a practical thing. I had some confusion here and there but I managed to consult about it with Ms Melina and was able to be done with it. This is how I did it so far... (it's complete though) (Processing...) (Tools I used and the measurements given by our lecturer) (Final result before feedback) I also accidentally tore the paper one time, which made me a little bit bummed out at first because I had to redo it all over again, but it's fine. It was first time trying to do this and it was always fun to learn something new (my curiosity knows no bound actually :3). Not to ...
